Joe Rogers Hariel, age 83, passed away on May 5, 2025 in Perkinston, MS surrounded by his loving friends and family. He was born in Ceasar, MS on September 30, 1941 to the late Thomas Hariel and Grace Breland Hariel. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Joe Rogers Hariel passed away leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, devotion, and love for family, faith, and the outdoors. Joe began his professional life as a chemist before transitioning to a long and respected career in the oil industry, where he helped many people and was known for his calm wisdom and willingness to listen. A man of deep Christian faith and a Mason of the highest degree, Joe led with integrity, humility, and quiet strength. Outside of work, Joe’s heart belonged to the field. An avid fox hunter and expert houndsman, he and his beloved wife traveled the country together for hunts and field trials. They were a true team, side by side in every adventure, raising and training award-winning foxhounds through their cherished Yopon Foxhound Kennels. Together, they built a life filled with shared passion, travel, and deep companionship. Joe’s greatest pride was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and passed down not only knowledge, but values and traditions that will live on for generations. His presence was steady, kind, and thoughtful, always ready with good advice, a helping hand, or a listening ear. Joe Hariel lived a full, faithful life—rooted in love, purpose, and the thrill of the chase. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Joe is preceded by his beloved daughter, Rachel Ladner; granddaughter, Holly Hariel; parents, Thomas and Grace Hariel; siblings, Sue Ladner, Roland Hariel, and Larry Hariel. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 44 years, Patsy Hariel; children, Shawn (Cheryl) Hariel, Christopher (Tammy) Hoda, Mark Hoda, Laura Russell, and Clark Hoda. Also left to cherish his memories are eleven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
