Mr. Jimmy Wilford Dearman

April 11, 1941 — February 4, 2018

Jim Dearman, 76 of the Magnolia community, passed away Sunday evening in Wiggins. Jim was born April 11, 1941 in Gulfport, one of six children to Ottis & Vera Dearman. He grew up a country boy at heart in Harrison county, and after obtaining his GED, joined the MS Army National Guard, and later transferred to the MS Air National Guard, where he served for 11 years while working for Sears & Roebuck Co. He then went to work for MS Power as an operator at Plant Watson, and remained there until his retirement. On May 29, 1990, he married Teresa Brown, and they shared the next 28 years together. They enjoyed living on a farm in Magnolia, travelling, but their 24 grandchildren was his true passion. Jim loved to video them having fun and enjoying life, amassing quite a collection, and thought more of them than he did his John Wayne movies. He was also an avid gardener and farmer, raising his cows and cutting hay. Jim and Teresa loved the Magnolia community, and were active supporters of the Westside Community Center. Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Ottis & Vera Dearman; a daughter, Jenise Dearman; and a grandson, Timothy Dearman. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Teresa; sons Robin (Kristi) Dearman, Jimmy (Andrea) Dearman, Ottis (Amber) Dearman, Bradley (Rebecca) Ladnier, and Berlun (Hope) Ladnier; his siblings, sisters Sandra (Ken) Smith and Jerrine (Gary) Colburn, and brothers Tommy (Sandi) Dearman, Bo (Judy) Dearman, Rusty (Shannon) Dearman; 24 grand and great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 10am until noon, followed by a chapel service, at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Interment will follow at the Davis Cemetery in Magnolia. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Dearman family, and asks that you keep Teresa and all the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
