Jerry Smith Thompson

Jerry Smith Thompson, 79 of Jackson, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Merit Central Hospital. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Korea as a Fire Protection Specialist during the Vietnam War.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Dawsey Thompson, his father, Ralph Butterfield Thompson and his mother Birdie May; his brother, Hugh Nelson (“HN”) Thompson and his sister, Bobbie Wells.  He is survived by his three sons, Joey Thompson, Shan Thompson and Chris Thompson, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Thompson family in their time of need.
