Saucier, MS

Mr. Jerry Otis Spiers, 58 of Saucier, lost his battle with cancer Monday morning, May 6th in Perkinston. Jerry was born January 10, 1961 in Gulfport, the son of James Spiers & Nellie (Goff) & Scottie Howard. He grew up in Gulfport, an active and outgoing young man who enjoyed skating and playing football. With a hilarious, witty and often sarcastic sense of humor, Jerry was always the "life of the party" so to speak. After graduating high school, he enjoyed construction, and made a career as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator. In his free time, he enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, buggys, and his Harley, which he spent many miles on. A loving, helpful brother, father, and faithful friend to many, he will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his father, James Spiers, his mother, Nellie Howard, and step-father, Scottie Howard; sisters Gloria Hebert and Stacy Hill, and one brother, James "Pete" Spiers, Jr. Jerry is survived by: his sons, Jeffery (Lacy) Aycock and Joey (Heather) Jones; 13 siblings: Maurice (Daisley) Spiers, Wendy Cox, Rhonda Moore, Raymond Howard, Nancy (Mark) Parker, Scottie Howard, Jr., Shane Spiers, Michelle Thrash, Kelly Hartfield, Christine Jansen, and Bobby Spiers; eight grandchildren: Kayla, Austin, Kaytin, Katelyn, Farrah, Anna Kate, Addison, and Brantley, along with numerous extended family and friends. Jerry's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, May 11, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Following the service, family and friends will gather at his sister Nancy's home to reminisce. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Spiers family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over this difficult time.
