Saucier

Jerry Lee Price, age 73, passed away in Gulfport on April 10, 2020. He was born to Cecil and Goldie (McFarland) Price on June 17, 1946 in Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; daughter, Goldie (Richard Pate, Jr.) Price; son, Jamie (Angie Welter) Price; grandchildren, Crystal, Bryan, Jerald, Chantel, Robin and Michael; 11 great-grandchildren along with extended family and lifelong friends. Jerry proudly served in the Army for 10 years, 6 months and 4 days.  He went to Vietnam 3 times, 2 of those he volunteered to go. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Army Commendation Medal, Expert Badge with M16 bar, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star Medal. His dedication and bravery never left him. After his honorable discharge he became an undercover cop before working at Sonny’s Gun Shop on Dedeaux Rd. in Gulfport and then a gunsmith from his home. Jerry’s attention to detail was legendary as he took pride in the fact that he always left his customers satisfied. A gentleman in every sense of the word, Jerry believed in the “old school” way. You never had to guess or wonder what Jerry thought about anything. You always knew where you stood with him. Right, wrong or indifferent- he would let you know. He had a close relationship with his children. There was never a doubt that he had their back. He taught them “You can’t kill bad grass and you can’t hurt steel.” This world is a better place because of Jerry Lee Price. He will be forever loved and dearly missed. He will be laid to rest at the Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date with honors. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Jerry and ask that you keep his family and our country that he loved so much in your prayers.
