Jerry Edward May peaceably transitioned to be with the Lord in Purvis, MS, on October 28, 2024. Born on April 13, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jerry's journey through life was marked by his dedication to The Lord, his family, his passion for creativity, and his exceptional talent as a craftsman. Jerry's formative years were spent at Dixie Hollins High School in Pinellas Park, Florida, where he graduated in 1962. His education laid the foundation for his distinguished career as an accomplished tool and die maker. Jerry took immense pride in his work, contributing significantly to his field, enriching his associations with skill and dedication. Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry was an avid reader, indulging in the joy of a good book daily. He was also an amateur magician and a versed craftsman with a particular prowess for woodworking. His only indulgence was a sweet tooth, with a special fondness for ice cream, second only to the love for his wife. Known for his loving and selfless nature, Jerry's life was a testament to his commitment to his family and his passions. He will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered for the warmth and generosity that were the hallmarks of his character. Jerry was a rare soul who brought light and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. Jerry is preceded in passing by his parents, Otto May and Betty Mcintire. His legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 60 years, Carol Ann May, who was the beacon of his life and the greatest joy of his heart. His memory is cherished by his brother Ronald May and wife Janet; loving children, Scott May and wife Theresa, Kirk May and wife Tiffany, Amy Vellenga, and Audra LaMarca; along with his fortunate grandchildren, Matthew and Jared May, Ashley Darnell and husband Joshua, and Emily May. His vibrant spirit lives on through his great-grandchildren, Jaden, Averie, Alina, and Ariah Darnell. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the May family in their time of need, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
