Jeffery Ellis Scott

February 1, 1966 — August 23, 2024

Petal

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffery Ellis Scott, 58, of Petal, MS. He was born February 1, 1966, in San Antonio, TX, in Bexar County to Cheryl Dianne Brewer and John Winfield Scott. He moved around Multiple times where he ultimately landed in MS to continue his life. He worked his whole life as a carpenter, and a contractor, where he showed his true passion for his work. He had a huge love for country music, westerns, and all things cowboy. You could find him wearing his brim hat, large buckle, and western boots anytime you saw him. It goes without saying that he was definitely a Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is preceded in death by both his father, John Winfield Scott, mother, Cheryl Dianne Brewer, his daughter, Lacey Cheree Scott and Misty Lynne Scott, and his eldest grandchild, James Tyler Gann.

He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Gretchen Michelle Scott, Daughters and grandchildren, Crystal Rene’ Paresa, [Kai and Koa], Faith Nicole Overstreet: [Kumiya, Ayden, and Christopher], and Jamie Marie Switzer: [Gaelle and Emerlynn], grandchildren, Britaney Cole and Kevin Cole, his twin brother, Jerry (Tonya) Scott, his brothers, John Scott, Jimmy (Cindy) Scott, and sister, Jaqueline (Jim) Clark, and his beloved dog, Tate. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved greatly.
