Jeanette Louise (Cuevas) Ladner

May 18, 1934 — May 14, 2025

Pass Christian

Jeanette Louise (Cuevas) Ladner, 90, of Pass Christian, returned to the arms of her beloved on May 14, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Jeanette was born at home, on May 18, 1934, to her parents Levi and Sedonia (Necaise) Cuevas. Jeanette grew up in the country, where you didn't have a choice but to work hard. From gardening to cooking to taking care of the home she and Harris built together, Jeanette was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her time spent in the kitchen was where she showed you just how much she loved you. Jeanette loved a holiday, where her entire family was gathered together and she could cook their favorites and enjoy the time spent with those she loved the most. If you knew Jeanette, then you knew she loved butterflies and collecting Angels, and her house was full of them. She made her home a haven to many who weren't just family, opening their home to Veterans at one point, where she cared for them day in and day out, and cared for more than twenty-nine different children over the years whom she kept. Jeanette loved to fish, and if she thought it was worth putting on the wall, then she had it mounted! Jeanette made sure her family knew how much she loved them, especially those grands, great-grands, and great-great-grands. A love so big that it will be immensely missed by all those who loved and cared for her. Jeanette is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Harris Ladner, Sr.; her parents, Levi and Sedonia Cuevas; two children, Glenda Ladner and Barry Ladner; five siblings, Wilton Cuevas, Milton Cuevas, Lacey "Red" Cuevas, Welton Cuevas, and Lilly Mae (Cuevas) Moran; and one grandchild, Josie Ladner. Left to cherish her love and memory, two sons, Harris (Teressa) Ladner, Jr., and Bryan Keith (Rhonda) Ladner; one sister, Minnie Lou Cuevas; five grandchildren, Kathy LeDell (Torrey) Johnson, Jenae (Jody) Jones, Colton (Devan) Harmon, Meghan (Josh) Peterson, and Jacquelyn (Chris) Gordon; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey (Wade) Ladner, Lane Jones, Kane, Kree, and Kord Harmon, Madi Cuevas, Kipton, and Ramsey Peterson; and four great great-grandchildren, Lillian, Izzy, Berkleigh, and Hunter. Jeanette leaves a legacy of numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whom she loved very much. The family would like to say a very special thank you to Ms. Jeanette's nurse, Susan, with Deaconess Hospice, for taking wonderful care of her. Services for Jeanette will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, beginning at Noon for Visitation, followed by Catholic Mass at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Dedeaux, with interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Rotten Bayou directly following. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Ladner family during this time and would ask that you remember them all in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
