Obituary

his real magic was his massive smile and his endless capacity for making people laugh.

On July 6, 2026, Jason Joseph Lombardo (DJJSON) loaded up his gear and headed to his next big gig. Jason was well known as the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s favorite DJ keeping the dance floor hopping, but his real magic was his massive smile and his endless capacity for making people laugh.

Born on June 19, 1973, Jason spent 53 years living life at maximum volume. He made his sudden exit just days after celebrating his birthday the exact way he wanted: surrounded by family, eating good food, and catching a winning Cardinals baseball game.

For over thirty years, Jason was a legendary professional DJ all along the Coast. He had a supernatural gift for reading a room, making sure every wedding couple had the night of their lives, and packing a dance floor until the house lights came on. He didn't just play tracks; he manufactured pure joy.

When he wasn't behind the decks, Jason’s favorite residency was being a dad and grandfather. His greatest productions were his son, Justin Lombardo, and daughter-in-law, Shanna Lombardo. He was the world’s proudest "Papaw" to Lexi, Everly, and Floyd. He also leaves behind his favorite sister, Christina Lombardo, and brother-in-law Matt Sweet, along with his dear aunt, Annette Lombardo.

Jason shared his life, his heart, and his playlist with Lisa Mirth. In a true testament to his deep capacity for love, Jason—a fiercely dedicated New England Patriots fan—officially adopted Lisa’s teams and became a massive, die-hard fan of both the Cardinals and the Blues himself.

He has now loaded up his gear and headed to the ultimate after-party, where he is safely reuniting with his opening acts: his father, Frank Lombardo Sr.; his mother, Fran Lombardo; and his sisters, Mari and Deidra Lombardo.

We will gather for a celebration of Jason’s life down the road. When it's time for his final encore, we promise to keep the speeches short, the memories happy, and the volume turned way up.

Until then, do Jason a favor: turn up your favorite song, tell a cheesy joke to someone you love, and remember that the music doesn't stop just because the DJ moved on.
