March 10, 1975-June 14, 2026

On the morning of June 14, 2026, Jason Glen Davis entered heaven and was completely healed from the cancer that he had so courageously battled for over three years. He was surrounded by family who, through immense sadness, rejoiced that his suffering had ended and his eternal life had begun. While he was never able to ring the bell during his cancer journey, he was able to ring the ultimate bell on June 14th. The peace and majesty he encountered at that moment was what he strived his entire life to receive. He was a good and faithful servant all the days of his life and would encourage others to live with the same faith and devotion.

Jason was born March 10, 1975, in Picayune, MS, to Glenn and Lillian Davis. He was raised in Poplarville, MS and spent his time doing all the things he loved best-hunting, fishing, spending time with friends and family, and loving the Lord. He faithfully read his Bible and cherished fellowship with his pastor, Steven Hunt, and his church family at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. His biblical foundation was firmly established at an early age and became the cornerstone upon which he built his life.

Jason was married to Lisa, the love of his life, for 26 years, and together they had two children, Shelby Grace and Cooper Lane. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed vacations together while being involved with the children’s activities. As a parent, he savored every moment, but his greatest joy was knowing his children had accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, guaranteeing their eternal life in heaven. He loved hearing Shelby and Cooper sing specials in church. They were the absolute joys of his life, and the family’s comfort comes in knowing this “goodbye” is only temporary.

Jason was an excellent provider. He proudly served as a Gulfport police officer for 12 years. As an officer, he loved keeping the community safe and enjoyed training new officers when they joined the force. The bonds he built during this time are a lasting legacy and testament to his love for law enforcement. The brotherhood was strong, and he cherished the relationships he built.

After his time at Gulfport PD, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. Although he didn’t know it at the time, this would be a major turning point in his career. He was deployed in March of 2015 and had the opportunity to see parts of the world he had only heard about or seen on tv. For twelve years he served his country and learned many new skills that would move him into a career that he never expected.

New experiences, new challenges and new friendships never intimidated him. He embraced new opportunities without hesitation, always focused on bettering himself and building a strong future for his family. “Big Country” and “Hoss”, as he was known, was loved by all who worked with him. His big, fun personality and easy nature earned him the respect and admiration of those who worked with him.

Work was never just “work” when he was around. He made every day fun. For 12 years he worked at the 1108THAVCRAD in Gulfport, where he enjoyed the technical nature of his job along with the people he spent each day with. He loved researching and learning new things, which gave him a vast knowledge base. His primary work duties included sheet metal fabrication and serving as a helicopter mechanic.

Because of his strong leadership qualities and desire to grow, he was offered a position as an Aerospace Engineer at Blue Origin in Van Horn, Texas. This was the pinnacle of his career. He thrived in this environment and was quickly promoted. While he hated being away from home, he knew opportunities like this rarely came along. He was involved in highly technical aspects of the construction and launch process. He met many interesting people and played an important role in the advancements of space travel.

His career afforded him great opportunities to witness to others, serve, protect, and advance our nation, and these were things he never took lightly. He treasured his coworkers, and each one held a special place in his heart.

Hunting season was an incredibly special time for Jason to spend time outdoors, enjoying God’s creation. For many years Jason, along with his father-in-law (Mickey Anderson), brother-in-law (Mick Anderson), and Jimmy Cuevas (Harley Shorts) hunted together and shared so many fun times! The stories they told, and many more they didn’t tell, could have been the foundation of some of the funniest movies ever made. Years later, Bailey Woods joined the crew. He was eager to kill a big deer and Jason was equally as eager to help him get one. The bond he had with Bailey was extra special, being more like a son than a friend. Last year was extra special because Shelby and Cooper joined their dad on his annual hunting trip! Jason was thrilled at their interest in going and he had each of them fully outfitted and ready to harvest a buck. The great outdoors was the setting for fun times and fellowship, and all who shared those special moments with him will treasure those memories forever.

Jason is preceded in death by father-in-law, Mickey Anderson, Sr., paternal grandmother Granny Dot and maternal grandmother Wanzie Hodge.

A life well lived and deeply loved by many, Jason is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, Shelby and Cooper; and his son-by-choice, Bailey Woods. His parents, Glenn and Lillian Davis of Poplarville; his siblings, Scott (Elsie) Davis and Nina (Todd) Goodwin; He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Debbie Anderson of Perkinston; his brother-in-law, Mick (Holly) Anderson of McHenry. His beloved nieces and nephews, Calynn Ladner, Jacey Davis, Peyton Beech, Joshua Davis, Hailey Goodwin, Bethany Goodwin, Mary-Pate McGuire, Taylor Hallmark, and Sarah Anderson. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

In his final days, he mentioned many times that he truly had no idea how many lives a person touches throughout a lifetime or how meaningful it would be to have so many people reach out to him with prayers and encouragement. He felt incredibly loved and was humbled by the outpouring of love.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17th at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Saucier, MS. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and service will begin at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM at Biloxi National Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors.

Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Davis family and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
