Ms. Janie Sue (Spears) Pierce, 69 of the Big Level Community, formerly of Wilmer, LA went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, April 20, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of Stone County. She was born to Clifton and Ruth Spears January 28, 1951 in Independence, LA. She eternally rejoins her parents; beloved husband, Walter Pierce; sisters, Frances Kathleen Bateman and Nelleen Seal and brother, Thomas Spears. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, bonus son and daughter in law, Brian and Nikki Pierce; granddaughter, Belle; sister in law, Sharon Pierce; best friend, Joan Mallette, along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Janie was a simple woman. She like to keep to herself. Her frequently places of travel were either her church or Wal-Mart. Janie had a heart of gold and a willingness to help others. She enjoyed teaching Tiny Tots Sunday School class at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The children were her heart and joy, she genuinely loved telling them the love God had for them. Her motto was “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others”. The legacy of Janie’s kind spirit, passion for Christ and love of her family will always be remembered. Visitation will be Saturday, April 25 from 11am to 2 pm at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral at 2 pm with Elders Joe Lott and Doug Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Yancey Magee officiating. Every effort will be made to adhere to the current social distancing guidelines and those attending are asked to take proper precautions.
