With profound sorrow and deep appreciation for a life well-lived, we share the passing of Jamie Lea Ratcliff, who departed this world on July 5, 2026, in the comfort of her home.  Born on May 27, 1977, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to her parents, James and Rena (Flowers) Wallace, Jamie’s journey through life touched the hearts of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy marked by kindness, warmth, and generosity.

Jamie was, in every sense, a "jack of all trades", eagerly embracing varied roles throughout her working life. Of the many paths she followed, she found her truest calling as a caregiver at the nursing home. In that environment, her compassion and humor flourished; she was a calming, bright presence for those she served, giving her time and heart unsparingly to others when they needed her most.

Family was the vibrant center of Jamie’s world.  As a devoted wife to John Ratcliff—her partner and inseparable companion—she embraced each shared adventure, from their spontaneous travels to the simple pleasures of an afternoon outdoors. They were often described as two peas in a pod, their affection for one another shining through in every gesture and laughter-filled conversation.

Jamie's love encompassed not only her husband but her daughter, Breanna Howkins, and her cherished grandbaby, A’veah Johnson—the pride and joy of her life. Nothing brought Jamie more happiness than moments spent with A’veah, whether taking her out for Halloween or delighting in the innocent joys of everyday events. Family holidays and cookouts were incomplete without Jamie’s expert touch in the kitchen, where her culinary talents and infectious smile brought loved ones together. She was always the first to ensure everyone had a plate in hand and the last to enjoy the camaraderie her cooking fostered.

Jamie’s love extended to her niece Eva Lindsey, with whom she shared unforgettable memories—teaching the watermelon crawl line dance and even offering the thrill of a first driving lesson. Her warmth was matched by a keen sense of humor and an outgoing nature that endeared her to friends and strangers alike. The beach beckoned her as a place of peace and joy, a setting she cherished for relaxing conversations and the company of those she loved.

A people person in every facet of her being, Jamie never let a moment pass without expressing her love, ensuring her family and friends felt the depth of her affection. She delighted in the simple pleasures of being there for others, consistently placing their needs above her own, embodying both unwavering kindness and laughter that could turn any day into a cherished memory.

Jamie’s loving spirit remains alive in those she leaves behind: her devoted husband, John Ratcliff; adored daughter, Breanna Howkins; precious granddaughter, A’veah Johnson; beloved mother and father, Rena and James Wallace; caring sister, Sara Lindsey; and her treasured niece, Eva Lindsey.

Jamie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hazel Flowers, whose influence was a guiding star in her life.

Friends and family are invited to honor Jamie’s memory at the visitation on July 13, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, MS.  A funeral service will follow at the same location from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, offering a time for all who loved her to reflect on the indelible mark she left upon their lives.
