James Otis Tassin

James Otis Tassin passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, in Picayune, MS. Born on November 1, 1964, in Texas, James was a true embodiment of the old-school values that shaped his life and the lives of those around him. James was known for his straightforward nature, never one to beat around the bush. Friends and family could always count on him to get straight to the point, a trait that earned him respect and admiration. His hardworking spirit was unparalleled, and his dedication to his work was only matched by his devotion to his family. James was a rock, a steady presence in the lives of his loved ones, and his children and family were the light that guided him. Every Saturday, without fail, James could be found at Lee's Hamburgers, a tradition that was as much a part of him as his daily cup of coffee. This simple pleasure was a testament to the joy he found in life's consistent routines. His laid-back and easygoing demeanor belied a man who knew the value of hard work and the importance of taking time to enjoy the small moments. James's love for movies provided him with a well-deserved escape and a way to share stories and laughter with those he held dear. His faith was a quiet constant in his life, never overbearing, but always present, guiding him through life's challenges and triumphs. James is preceded by two sons, David Acuna and Tyler Mefford; parents, James Otis Tassin, Sr. and Mattie Bryant. Left to cherish his memories are five children, Courtney (Aaron) Smith, Sydney Tassin, William Tassin, Jennifer Tassin, and Veronica Tassin; siblings, Carl Tassin, Ricky Edmonds, Pamela (Sam) Bedgood, Beth (Don) Daniels, and Tommy Edmonds; five grandchildren, Andrew, Gracie, Aaron, Anthony, and Eli; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Tassin Family during these difficult times and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
