James Mack "Jamie" Sullivan, 41 of Mount Olive, passed away Tuesday evening. He was born August 10, 1978 in Jackson to Danny Joe & Nelda Jean (Calhoun) Sullivan. He grew up in Mt. Olive and was known by those closest to him as Jamie. He was an avid horseman, even at young age. He always had a way with horses and he could ride almost anything. He grew up competing in local horse shows with his family, starting when he was very young. He rode his first wagon train with his grandparents when he was only 3 years old., riding for 2 weeks on the Gulfport wagon train. The following 38 years, he rode and assisted the Mt. Olive Wagon train annually. He loved his family, his horses and being a part of the Dixie National Wagon Train. Jamie held various jobs during his lifetime: Shoeing horses, moving mobile homes with his grandfather, truck driving, construction, you name it and he‘s probably done it. Jamie leaves us much too soon, and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his mother, Nelda Jean Sullivan, grandparents Bradys Grubbs, J.M. & Florene Sullivan. Left to cherish his memories are: his three sons, Austin (Briana) Sullivan, John and Joshua Sullivan; his granddaughter Alyssa Sullivan; multiple siblings, with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins galore. Services have not been set at this time, but a memorial service will be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Sullivan family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
