James Ray Mccurdy, Sr

James Ray McCurdy, Sr. 78, of Forrest, Ms, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home. James was born June 4, 1944, in Scott county to his parents James C. and Valeria (Sessums) McCurdy. James enjoyed a lifetime of gardening. He was truly a people person who loved to "cut up", bringing laughter to everyone he met with his jokes and witty sense of humor. James was a caring and loving father to his children and all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger Dale McCurdy, and one sister, Joyce Ann Wallace McCurdy. Left to cherish James' memory are his children, James (Jessica) McCurdy of Forrest; two daughters, Amy (Richard) McCurdy of Texas, and Jodi McCurdy of Virginia; and one brother George McCurdy.  James leaves behind a legacy of nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
