Mr. James Elton Littlefield, 74 of the Big Level community, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016, in Benndale. Mr. Elton was a fun-loving person who was always smiling. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and always had a story to tell. He was the hard working type, who was more than willing to help anyone. He had lived in the Big Level community for the past 15 years. He is survived by his son, Eddie Salinas (Jordan) of Hattiesburg; 4 sisters, Margaret Parker of George county, Darlene Parvin of Hattiesburg, Evelyn Kates (Melvin) of the LaRue community, and Kathy Littlefield of Benndale; 3 grandchildren, Antonio James, Victoria Marie, and Brycen Lee Salinas, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Joyce Littlefield; his parents, James Franklin and Mary Mae Littlefield; a brother, Earnest Ray Littlefield; and a sister, Diane Smith. Mr. Littlefield desired to be cremated, and the family is following his wishes. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 28th at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, beginning with a visitation at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 11. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Littlefield family in their time of need.
