Mr. James Arthur "Jimmy" Griffin

Mr. Jimmy Griffin, 65 of the Big Level community, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Jimmy was born May 15, 1952 in Hattiesburg, MS, one of 6 children to Bobbie and Helen (McVay) Griffin. He grew up in Big Level, and was the typical country boy. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting, and attended Home Elementary School. As a teenager, he decided to travel, and actually hitch-hiked around the country. Jimmy developed a passion for motorcycles, and loved to ride. He would eventually married and settled in, making his home in Big Level. He was quite a good mechanic and electrician by trade, and was always fixing something for someone. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Tammy Ruth Griffin; his step-children, Leonard C (Rachel) McMurrian of Bond, John (Emily) McMurrian of Lucedale, and Stephen Lee of Wiggins; his siblings, Diane (Phillip) Clay, Bobby (Billy) Delancey, Bennie Griffin, and Susan King, all of Perkinston; and Eva Delancey (Don Renshaw) of Batesville, AR; 5 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded by his parents, Bobbie E. and Helen L. Griffin; a niece, Tammy King, and a nephew, Phillip Clay. Jimmy's wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A memorial service has been set for Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Wiggins. Rev. Donnie Simms will officiate. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Griffin family, and asks that you keep them in your prayers in this trying time.
