James William Foy, Jr.

September 8, 1970 — December 9, 2023

Belle Chasse

James William Foy, Jr., 53, passed away December 9th, 2023 in Belle Chasse, LA. He was born September 08, 1970 in Algiers, LA, the oldest of two children to the late James William Foy, Sr. and Mary (Hughes-Foy) Casey. He grew up in Belle Chasse and enjoyed being outside most of the time. Fishing, riding four wheelers, and working on bikes, cars, or whatever he could get his hands on, James was going to "fix it". He attended schools in Belle Chasse and decided to enter the workforce early on as a truck driver. James drove dump trucks for his step father, Joe Casey, who owned Casey's Truck Service. He could also operate equipment, do some mechanic work, or just about whatever needed doing. James was one who believed that his daily purpose in life was to make someone laugh, and if he couldn't do that, to make somebody mad. He succeeded more in making folks laugh by picking on you, ever with his jovial attitude, and oh yes, he always had a comeback for whatever you threw at him. His personality was larger than life, that person you always knew when he was there. Personally, James wasn't one for crowds though, preferring smaller, more personal gatherings. He loved to fish, cook on the grill, and have bonfires with his family and friends. His hands, well they were always dirty because he continued to tinker with whatever he thought needed fixing. If he ran out of things to do or fix at his house, he would find something at yours or somewhere else. He had a huge heart and always wanted everyone in his circle to be "ok". James did his best to make a good first impression and worked hard to live up to that every single day. There are far more stories and memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. James was preceded by his father, James Foy, Sr., and his grandparents, Samuel and Martha Foy, Clifton and Lillie Hughes, and Joe and Alma Casey. Left to cherish his memories and carry on the stories are: his two children, son Aaron Foy and daughter Tippany Foy, along with their mother, Salena Foy, all of Belle Chasse; his loving mother and stepfather, Mary (Joe, Jr.) Casey, and his sister Melissa (Kristopher) Williams, also of Belle Chasse. He leaves a long line of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, including Sarah Johnson, Lundin Johnson, Clifton Hughes, Cleo (Don) Hammett, Judy Spencer, Paul Leal, Elvie Barlow, Joann (Harrison) Cook, and Harry (Joann) Casey, plus plenty more extended family and lots of friends. Services are set for Monday, Dec. 18th at Trinity Funeral Services in Lumberton.
