James Roy Easley

James Roy "Boo Boo" Easley, 68, passed away on January 30, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Roy was born on December 3, 1953 in Hattiesburg, MS to parents James and Weenanah Easley. He was raised in Lumberton, MS and in 1981, he met his lovely wife Carrie and they raised five children together. Roy worked in the oil field for a few years, and then he would move on to serve his community for twenty-one years with the City of Lumberton Water Department. Roy had a very caring and generous personality. He liked to make sure his siblings had money to go to local football games. He liked to give gifts to his nieces and nephews after shopping trips and would make sure he always had M&M’s to give out. Roy loved to cook, work on cars, and fish. He was an avid Mississippi State fan and most of all he loved spending time with his family by the pool BBQ’ing. Roy was a great husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Weenanah Easley; brothers, Robert Easley, Colbie Easley, and Kirby Easley. James is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carrie Virginia Easley of Lumberton, MS; sons, Eddie (Hannah) Easley of Meridian, Nickey (Meagan) Easley of Purvis, MS, Tyler (Dreamer) Easley of Lumberton, MS, Marshall (Victoria) Watkins of Long Beach, MS, and Bradley (Katie) Pfeffer of Hattiesburg, MS; brother, Troy (Cheryl) Easley of Petal, MS; sisters, Maudie Solotes of Magee, MS, and Marie (Wayne) Barlow of Hattiesburg, MS. Roy has seven grandchildren; Aubrey, Madyson, Cooper, Charleigh, Eli, Rowdy, and Maeve. Roy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on February 5, 2022 at Trinity Funeral Services in Lumberton from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Lumberton City Cemetery on a later date.
