Mr. James Autry Bond, 80 of Baxterville, passed away Sunday afternoon in Hattiesburg. James, or "007" as he was known by most, was born July 3, 1938 here in South MS, the 4th of 5 children to Claude & Leona (Smith) Bond. A typical country boy from the start, he loved to hunt and fish. After high school, this 007 never starred in a movie, rather worked in the oil fields and a couple of other places, but spent most of his career as a driver for Lamar County. None the less, he was definitely a character. He married the love of his life, Janie Willadean Lott, and they made their home in Baxterville, where he was an active member of the Piney Ford Hunting Club. 007 loved and provided for his family, and had truly missed Janie every day since her passing. He enjoyed riding around and having a good time, and going to the store, just to sit around and drink coffee, and could always find a way to get there. 007 will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. James was preceded by his parents; his loving wife, Janie; one son, James Daniel Bond; and his brother, Joseph "Pop" Bond. Left to cherish his memories are: his children, Darren Bond of Baxterville, and Sonya Ann Bond of Purvis; his brothers, Claude E. "Sam" Bond, Jr., Henry "Red" Bond, and Marion "Buddy" Bond; along with untold numbers of neighbors, co-workers, and friends through the years. His final wishes was for "nothing fancy", so the family has set graveside services for 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 26, 2019, at the Bond Cemetery off Tatum Salt Dome Road in Baxterville. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Bond family in their time of need, and asks that everyone keep them in their prayers during this trying time.
