Obituary

Jackie Ray Carmack, 71, of Gulfport, MS., passed away on September 14, 2026, in the comfort of his home. Jackie was born on December 25, 1954, in Kentucky, to his parents, Arthur and Jeanette (Smith) Carmack. Jackie's passion in life was truck driving. He enjoyed being on the road and seeing the sights that came along with the job. After he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his church friends, who were a huge part of his life. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved to fellowship with other believers. Although Jackie never married, he loved his big family, and through those relationships, he was gifted the best caregivers before losing his battle to cancer. Jackie was loved immensely, and though he will be missed, his family rests knowing their brother is healed and resting in the arms of Jesus. Jackie will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family who shared in his life.

Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Carmack; his mother and stepfather, Jeanette and JR Thompson; two brothers, David Carmack and Gary Carmack; one niece, Anna Marie Carmack; and one nephew, Timothy Ray Carmack. Jackie is survived by two sisters, Judy (Bradford) Cox and Linda (Timothy) Evans; one brother, Arthur "Junior" (Lisa) Carmack; his sister-in-law, Debbie Carmack; as well as eight nieces and nephews, seventeen great-nieces and nephews, two great great nieces and nephews; and many more extended family and dear friends. Their lives, and the lives of all who cared for him, carry forward his memory with affection and gratitude.

A graveside service for Jackie Ray Carmack will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, beginning at 10:30 am, in Wolf River Cemetery in Gulfport. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Carmack family during this time, and we ask that you remember them all in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
