Mr. J.T. Hickman, 83 of Wiggins, MS, passed away Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital of Gulfport. He will be remembered as a faithful husband and father, a provider and protector for his family. A strong, dependable man who was always full of humor, J.T had a deep love and compassion for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren, all 47 of them! Mr. Hickman was a born-again Christian, and member of Berean Baptist Church in Wiggins. He is survived by his wife, Ada Gail Hickman; 6 children: James Evitts (Arlene) of Saucier, Dale Evitts (Darlene) and Alice Costello (Steve) of Gulfport, Sue Page (Cecil) of Dandridge, TN, Annie Smith of Ocean Springs, and J.T. Hickman, Jr. of Kodak, TN; 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Augustine (Bangs) Hickman; all 3 of his siblings: 2 sisters - Annie Lou Langley and Thelma Ladner, and one brother, Arnold Hickman; and his first wife of 38 years, Ida Victoria Hickman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7th, at Berean Baptist Church on Hwy. 49 in Wiggins. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ladnier Cemetery on Ridge Road South in the Silver Run community. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to have assisted the Hickman family in their time of need.
