Iris Ann Ramsay Walters, 74 of Wiggins passed May 4th at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg. The only child of Robert and Evelyn Ramsay, Iris was born in Hattiesburg on November 16, 1946. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Kenneth Walters; her daughters and son in law, Kimberly Walters, Dina and Robert “HoHo” Matthews and Robin West; her son and daughter in law, Jeremy and Sarah Collins; her grandchildren, which were her pride and joy, Kyle, Bailey, Annaliesse, Cheyenne, Haven, Keeli, Cody, Seth, Serenity and Anthony; her great grand, Luke along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Long story short…. Mr. Kenneth found Ms. Iris on a porch in Petal and the rest is history!! Together they made a life and raised 4 wonderful children. They stuck together, for better or for worse. Iris believed in family values. She loved her family very much and as the children grew older, they realized what a great friend they had in their mother. She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Wiggins. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman; completely devoted to her Lord and Saviour and a dedicated wife and mother. Iris’s family will fondly recall her fried chicken and peas cooked in an iron pot. She will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure. A visitation will be Saturday, May 8th at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church beginning at 2 pm with Bro. Dale Dearman officiating at 4 pm. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
