Hugh Leon Lee

Hugh Leon Lee passed away peacefully, November 28, in Hattiesburg. He was 83 years old. He was retired from Fed Ex as a Freight Salesman.  After a successful career, he continued working as a contractor until his death. After retirement, he discovered a love and talent for wood working. With his wife, Debbie, he designed and built lawn furniture. Not one to have idle hands, he loved playing cards and dominoes with long time friends. Growing up in the country, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting, a skill passed along to his sons. He was a colossal part of our family, having rarely missed a gathering. As though this wasn’t enough, he enjoyed going on cruises with his wife and friends.

Serving his Savior took first priority in his life. He served faithfully in many areas of Faith Fellowship Church.

Preceding him in death is his first wife, Donna; parents Harbert Lee and Opal Lee; brother Elwin Lee; sisters Kathleen Johnson and Layvonne Ladner. Those left to cherish his memory,  his wife, Debbie; his sons, Michael (Vicki) and Jeff (Kathy) and his eight grandchildren, Austin, Bobbi (Ryan), Kayla, Joseph, Bo, Amber, Nolen, and Kasen; two stepsons, Joseph and Robbie (Donna), a stepdaughter, Kerri (Michael) and five step grandchildren, Justin, Hanna, Avery, Bentley, and Grayson; brother Lavell (Myria) Lee and sister, Dona Sue Stewart;  a fur baby, Bella; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of his life will be Wednesday, December 4, at Faith Fellowship Church located at 268 Purvis to Brooklyn Road in Purvis. Visitation for family begins at 10:00. Visitation for friends begins at 11:00 with services to follow at 1:00. Bro. Bill Hudson and Bro. David Fitte will conduct the services assisted by Bro. Dustin Hariel, his great nephew. Burial will be at his childhood church, Lee’s Chapel # 2 Baptist Church located at 27015 Leetown Road, Picayune.
