Horace Allen Ladner, Sr.

April 15, 1947 — July 23, 2020

Perkinston, MS

Horace Allen Ladner, Sr., known far and wide simply as "Hoss", passed away late Thursday evening in Hattiesburg. Graveside services are being held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020, in the Ladner Family Cemetery on Road 270 in White Cypress community that he called home. His cousin, Brother Lonnie Spiers, will lead the service. Hoss was born on April 16, 1947 in Poplarville to the late Horace and Jeanette Ladner of Necaise Crossing, MS. Hoss is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Jeanette Ladner, brothers Roger Dean Ladner, Sr. and Arnold Lee Ladner, Sr. and a great grandson Gabriel Dwayne Barber. Hoss is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Mills Ladner; one son, Horace Allen "Lil Hoss" (Alice) Ladner, Jr. of White Cypress Lakes, with two daughters, Jody Ann Ladner, also of White Cypress Lakes and Jolene Lee (Jonathan) Mazeres of Vancleave; and his sister Nelda “Gay” Lee of Poplarville and his godchild, Deidra Lynn Nelson. He leaves a legacy of 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and more extended family and friends that one could count. Hoss was a genuinely great man, the kind that once you met him, you loved him. An amazing dad, husband and papa, he truly loved spending time with family and friends. When with him, one never left hungry because eating just a little bit was never enough.  Hoss loved taking care of his animals and running his beagles. A true joy to have in our lives, Hoss will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family of Horace “Hoss” Ladner would like to extend our sincere thanks to family and friends. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Ladner family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.
