Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory; his best friend and wife of 46 years, Frieda Kelly; daughter, Julie Haley; side kick, best buddy and grandson, Chason Haley; beloved granddaughter, Taylor Rose; sister, Louise Harrison; brother, Charles (Marion) Kelly Sr.; in laws, Vickie and Eugene Penton, Ann Jacobs , Eddie Jacobs and Dennis and Sue Penton; Godchildren, Whitney and Matthew Penton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family from Texas and DeLo and lifelong friends. Ray grew up in Gulfport and was the 5th of 7 children. He was a combat medic in the 305th field hospital with the Army Reserves making many life-long friends. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar, but nothing compared to his love for his family. He was known for a lot of different titles: son, brother, husband, father, business owner of Awards Unlimited but his favorite title was Pawpaw to Chason. Ray’s face would light up at the mention of Chason’s name. He was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all, a man who would give his shirt for any one in need.  He will forever be remembered as “fun Uncle Ray”. His family has many great memories of Ray camping, boating and living on the river. This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be forever loved and missed beyond measure.  A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Ray’s life at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist his family during this difficult time and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
