Helen Joyce Febus, born on April 28, 1946, in Tyronza, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, in Lumberton, Mississippi. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and generosity that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Helen, known fondly by her maiden name Gann before marrying Frank Febus, was a devout Christian whose deep love for God was evident in all aspects of her life. She found immense joy in her family, often beaming with pride as she shared stories and accomplishments of her loved ones within their church community. Her laughter and generosity knew no bounds; Helen had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her, complimenting strangers and making everyone feel cherished and valued.
Throughout her life, Helen was fiercely devoted to her children and the family she helped to create. She was proud of her relationship with God, which she regarded as her greatest accomplishment, alongside raising her beloved family. A prayer warrior, she worked tirelessly to spread the gospel and bring others to Christ, demonstrating her commitment to her faith daily.
Helen’s interests included reading her Bible, attending church, and spending treasured moments with her family. She had an affection for beautiful modest dresses and she always seemingly had a flower in hair, but most significantly, she radiated love for the Lord, living a life that mirrored her faith.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Febus; her sisters Sheila Leonard and her husband Jesse, and Mary Sauls and her husband Archie; her brothers Jerry Gann and Vondus Gann; her sons Darwyn Jarrell and his wife Kerry, Stacy Jarrell and his wife Emily, and Alicia McCurley and her husband Chan; her daughter Lauren Renee Smith; grandsons Bryan Howard, Trevor Jarrell, Adam Conine, and granddaughters Jessica Clark, Stephanie Smith, Tiffiny Conine, and Brittany Barnes, along with 16 beautiful great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will remember her with great fondness.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother Odie Gann, father J L Gann, sister Barbara Gann, and brothers Larry Gann and William Gann, as well as her son Rory Jarrell.
Her memory will be honored during a series of services at the Word Alive Revival Center in Wiggins, Mississippi. Visitation will take place on November 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. The graveside service will commence at 3:30 PM at McHenry Gardens Cemetery in McHenry, MS.
Helen Joyce Febus will be deeply missed, yet her spirit and dedication to her family and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
