Harold Joseph Lizana

December 18, 1950 — August 17, 2021

Thibodaux, LA

Harold J. "Peanut" Lizana, 70, a native of Pass Christian, MS and resident of Thibodaux, LA went to be with his loving Savior Jesus on Tuesday the 17th day of August, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with chronic lung disease. Peanut loved the Lord and would talk to anyone and everyone about Jesus and the Bible. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an artist of many talents. His life-long passion was singing and playing his guitar and he wrote many gospel songs. He recorded several CDs and gave away hundreds to family, friends and strangers. One of his hobbies was woodworking and he crafted many different items. He is well-known for his hand-made wooden crafts, especially the many different types of crosses from four inches to six feet high and created the FaceBook page “Cedar Crosses”. For over twelve years, Peanut served as Deacon for Fuller Ridge Community Church in Louisa, Kentucky. He loved leading people to Jesus an assisted in baptisms and all other aspects of the church. With his woodworking craftsmanship skills, he built the altar for the church, which is still there and used today. Harold is preceded in death by his wife Judy Faye, the love of his life; parents, Hays and Christine Lizana; brothers, Douglas, Richard & Leonard Lizana; nephew, Jeff Martin; a great-nephew, Little Lance Norton and a step-daughter Kelly Cheramie. He is survived by his two daughters, Paula Chiasson (Carol) of Thibodaux, LA, and Tammy Lizana (Mathew) of Raceland, LA; Sisters; Linda Norton of Pulaski, TN, Shirley McGee of Salecreek, TN, Diane Trejo (Joe) of Biloxi, MS, Karen Lee of Gulfport, MS, Tina Dauro (David) of Leesburg, GA, and Henrietta Ladner (Bay) of Saucier, MS; Brothers, David Lizana (Jan) of Carriere, MS, and Glen Lizana of Biloxi, MS; six (6) grandchildren; three (3) great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, greatnephews, his former step-daughters who have always continued a close personal and spiritual relationship, Kathy Dupuy (Lorry) of Thibodaux, LA; Michol Foret (Neal) and Michel Boudreaux (Pot) of Raceland, LA, with numerous former step-grandchildren and many, many friends. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 beginning at 9:30 am for family, 10:00 am for friends and the service at 11:00 am at Wolf River Cemetery located at 16490 Cemetery Rd, Gulfport, MS. The family would like to express gratitude and thanks to Journey Hospice in Houma, LA for their help getting through these times. Peanut loved all his nurses and looked forward to their visits. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lizana family once again in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
