Gregory "Greg" David Lewallen, age 62, left his earthly body and entered into the arms of Jesus on April 13, 2026. Greg was surrounded by his sister, Donna; his brother, James; his sister-in-law, Lynn, and His nephew, Shane, was also present via phone. Greg left with a smile on his face, envisioning the glories ahead.

Greg was born on February 3, 1964, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the late James “Jimmy” David and Annie Mae (Boone) Lewallen. Raised in Purvis, he spent much of his life working as a laborer and on 18 wheelers for his uncles, Doug and Curt Boone. Greg was a self taught mechanic that carried that knowledge and skill throughout his life.

In his youth, Greg was a hardworking man who loved his dogs, fishing, barbecuing, and country music. He found great peace in the outdoors, often sitting outside to listen to the sounds of nature. His nephews, Shane and Misha, have fond memories of spending summers with him and their grandmother. Like the rest of the Lewallen/Boone family, humor and sarcasm were part of his DNA. Even after becoming ill in January 2021, he always enjoyed being picked on by his brother, Jimbo (James).

While Greg is greatly missed, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. As a believer in Jesus, he is now free from pain and reunited with his family in heaven.

Greg was preceded in death by his brother, Rick; his sister, Terri; his parents, Annie and Jimmy; his grandparents, Liddie and Bud Boone, and Bertie and Walter Lewallen; and several aunts and uncles.

He leaves behind to treasure his memory his sister, Donna Lewallen; his brother, James (Lynn) Lewallen; his nephews, Misha Hinton, Shane Parent, and Andrew Lewallen; his nieces, Sarah Parent, Margaret Bardin, and Jamie Lewallen; and one grandnephew, James Bardin. He also leaves behind his uncle, Curtis Boone; his beloved dog, Bear, whom he entrusted to Shane; and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church (860 Purvis Oloh Rd, Purvis, MS 39475) on Saturday, May 16, at 3:00 PM.
