Glen Michael Lott, Jr.

April 24, 1972 — August 10, 2020

McHenry, MS

Glen Michael Lott, Jr., 48 of McHenry, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer Monday afternoon at his home in McHenry. He was born April 24, 1972 in Picayune, the son Glen "Mike" Lott, Sr. and Karen (Ladner) Bachtel. He grew up between Saucier and McHenry and as you might imagine, loved the outdoors more than anything. Hunting and fishing quickly became his passions in life and he spent as much time as possible doing them. Dubbed "Lil' Mike" by those closest to him, he was the type that enjoyed a good challenge and could figure most anything out. After his school years, he went to work doing whatever he wanted...literally. He has dug wells, built towers, welded, did carpentry, worked on cars and trucks or just about anything that needed doing. A Christian by faith and member of Saucier Baptist Church, he was also active with the Fishers of Men Bass Club and the Pin Branch Hunting Club over the years. Another of his accomplished talents was drawing. With many sketches, pictures and other efforts to his credit, he has also been known to do a bit of tattooing from time to time. Although some are called it, Lil' Mike was definitely a "jack of all trades". He is remembered as a great son and loyal friend to so many, the type that never met a stranger because he loved to talk so much. He had a laid-back approach to most anything, was "goofy", fun-loving and so loved to pull a good prank if possible. A loving father who protected and provided for his children, he also taught them what they needed in life. He will no doubt be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his grandparents, Mack & Mary Lou Lott, Jr. and Herman "Red" and Eunice Ladner, and his brother, Brian Bachtel. Left to cherish his memories are: his children, daughter Caley and son Daniel Lott, both of McHenry, their mother Marrita Lott; his parents, mother Karen Bachtel of Saucier and his father, Glen "Mike" Lott, Sr. of McHenry; a sister Devan Eldridge of Saucier and step-brothers Chaz Carr of Birmingham, AL and Richie Bachtel of Gulfport, along with several extended family and more friends and neighbors than one can account for. The family has set visitation for Friday evening, August 14th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Those planning to come should adhere to current guidelines set by the State of MS for the covid-19 situation. If you have any symptoms or are ill, please sign the online guest registry rather than attending in person. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 AM Saturday morning in the Diamond Cemetery with Bro. Steve Smith officiating. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have called, visited and cared for Lil' Mike over the years, especially through this battle with cancer. Your expressions of love and compassion have not gone unnoticed. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lott family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them lifted up in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
