Gina Marie Agustin, 39 of Gulfport, passed away Friday morning, August 27th at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. Born May 16, 1982 in Gulfport, Gina was the oldest of four and daughter of Kenneth Wesley Agustin and Marguerita Maria Merrill who were both originally from the Pacific Island of Guam. She grew up in South MS between Gulfport, Long Beach and McHenry where she came to enjoy the outdoors. When she was younger, Gina loved to go to the playground and help out with her younger siblings. She was kind of a "mother hen" you might say, watching and doing her best to keep them out of harms way. As she grew, Gina loved to be with her friends at the mall shopping or just hanging out. She worked as a manager for an inventory control service, which assisted businesses with inventory. In her spare time, she enjoyed singing karaoke and going to the casinos to play the slots. If you went with her and couldn't find her, you just needed to find the 88 Fortunes section, which is where she would be more often than not. Gina is lovingly remembered as a fun-loving, outgoing person. She enjoyed games, going to the beach and out to eat. A loving daughter, mother and grandmother, she is probably best remembered for her loud, boisterous laugh, which she used quite often. Gina couldn't wait for Mardi Gras each year and was so proud of her siblings and kids. She loved them all dearly, but nothing held a candle to her granddaughter. Calleigh was the absolute highlight of her life. Her love for her family and friends, along with that laugh, will be forever remembered by all whose life she touched. Gina was preceded by her brother, Christopher Kennedy. Left to cherish her memories are: her children, son Cameron Agustin (Kimberly Watson) of McHenry and her daughter, Alyssa (Connor) Haney of Gulfport; her father Kenny (Becky) Agustin of McHenry, her mother Megan Merrill of Gulfport, and her step-father, Tony Kennedy; a sister Ashley (Chase) Creekmoore of McHenry and brothers Adam Kennedy and Kyle Howell, both of Gulfport. She leaves a legacy of her only grandchild and her world since she was born, Calleigh Haney, along with numerous extended family and friends all over the coast. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. They will hold a Celebration of her Life at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Agustin family in this trying time, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
