Gilda Ann Davis, known affectionately as Memaw, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Kiln, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 9, 1954, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Travis and Challie Byrd. Gilda lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments, making a profound impact on all who knew her.

A devoted wife to her husband, Ronnie Davis, Gilda found joy in nurturing her family, always welcoming friends with open arms into her home. Her love for her children and grandchildren was evident in every interaction, as she created a warm and inviting atmosphere for gatherings that became the center of family life. Holidays were a particular joy for Gilda, and her motto, "the more the merrier," perfectly encapsulated her spirit. Each holiday was an opportunity for her family, including her children, grandchildren, and their friends, to come together for food and fun, celebrating the bonds that tied them.

Gilda had a special passion for basketball, which she joyfully shared with her grandchildren. Days spent at the park playing basketball became treasured memories that strengthened their relationships, highlighting her fun-loving nature and commitment to being an active part of their lives.

In addition to her husband, Gilda is survived by her devoted children: Rhonda Thompson, spouse Robert; Shellie Davis, Edna Giadrosich, spouse Josh; and Carol White. She takes joy knowing her legacy carries on through her grandchildren: Skyler Thompson, spouse Sarah; Tiffany Thompson spouse Christian; Raychell Dykes spouse Hunter; Matthew Wood, Dalton Asher /fiancee Karisa, Jamie Rines/ fiance Devin,  Raylynn Pierre, Brelee Pieree, Tristin Bodie spouse Brant; Jackson Cospelich, Tyler White, and Jordyn  White as well as the great grandchildren: Jace and Blayne Thompson, Bentley Thompson, Montana and Ryder Dykes.
