Mr. George Daniel Ford, 59 of the Janice community, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Greene county. Daniel was born May 5, 1958 in Hattiesburg, MS, and grew up in the Dixie community of Forrest county. As a young man, he came to love the outdoors and fishing, and was still very fond of the music he grew up with, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd. Daniel was a true jack of all trades, and among his hobbies was woodwork and restoring older vehicles, which included his 1977 Corvette. He was also fond of riding motorcycles, and loved to ride his Harley, but his true love was his family. Daniel adored his kids and grandkids, and enjoyed being one of Santa's helpers at Christmas. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Daniel was preceded by his parents, H.T. and Roberta Ford, Sr, two sons, Travis Ford, Jr. and Raymond C. Ford, and one grandson, Drake Swafford. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Ruby Lynn Ford; children Crystal Renee (Donald) Lewis of Woolmarket, Jeremy (Cassie) Braden of Saucier, Shelia (Ronnie) Burns of Orange Grove, and Shannon Morris (Joshua Holliman); his brother, Randy (Judy) Mann of Gulfport, 11 grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. His wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, and he desired no formal funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held at his home in the Janice community on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 17th, beginning at 2:00 PM. Friends, neighbors, and all who knew Daniel are invited to attend. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family with arrangements, and asks that you keep Ms. Lynn, Randy, and the entire Ford family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
