Gene Carolyn Killgo

Gene Carolyn Killgo, age 78, passed away on September 26, 2023 in Gulfport, MS. She was born in Lena, MS on September 7, 1945 to the late Robert and Notie Devoter. Gene found solace in life's uncomplicated moments. She cherished the quiet joy of fishing, the camaraderie of hunting, and the fun of bingo nights. Gene's artistry, from delicate ceramics to intricate crochet designs, reflected her subtle creativity and boundless love. With a love for movie nights, her gentle spirit found delight in scary movies and classic Westerns. As a creator of beautiful wedding cakes, she added sweetness to life's celebrations. Gene was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She will be missed dearly. Gene is preceded in death by the love of her life, John Ealy and her parents, Robert and Notie Devoter. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Jacquelin Cooper, Kevin (Krystal) Killgo, and Tonya Killgo; grandchildren, Nathan Killgo, Ariel (Steven) Fore, Grant Colan, Preston Colan, Dylana (Dakota Medina) Killgo, Oaklynn, Elizabeth Medina, and Kamden Killgo; brother, Robert Dan Devoter; cousins, Avanal; Robert Dun and family, and five great-grandchildren. The Killgo family would like to give a special thank you to Gene's church family at Shiloh Baptist church for all their help and hospitality.
