Gaynell Lind Martin, 63 of Saucier, passed away Tuesday, September 14th at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Gaynell was the baby of the Lind children, born July 20, 1958 in Bay St. Louis to the late R.C. Lind and Sarah Elizabeth (Moran) Harvey. She is lovingly remembered as a "pain in the butt" growing up, but at the same time, she was playful and got along with anyone. She was a loving young lady and that trait followed her in life. Gaynell had a heart that could forgive anything, no matter what. She loved to fish, go camping, canoeing and just about anything outdoors. Gaynell never thought she would have children, but her and Joe wound up with five of them. When she had her first, Jace, she spoiled him rotten from the start, just like she did for Joe as well. She was an excellent wife and mother, always taking care of her family. Her cooking skills were exceptional and she could come up with dishes that were out of this world delicious. Gaynell made the best spaghetti, banana pudding from scratch and a tater-tot casserole that will be missed by everyone who has ever eaten it. The holidays were a special time for her and she made the most of them. Gaynell was truly the "life of the party" type and she had a unique way of bringing out the best of those around her. Her hearty laugh, unforgettable voice, and delicious cooking will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her parents; two brothers, Wendall and Kyle Lind, and her son, James Edward Martin. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband of twenty-eight years, Joe Martin; their children: sons Jace Martin of Gulfport, Jody Clark of Biloxi and Joseph Martin, II of Meridian, plus one she considered "one of her own", Donald "Man-man" Cuevas of Perry county; her sister Janice Hill, with brothers Timothy Anderson and Randy (Charlotte) Lind, all of Saucier. Gaynell leaves a legacy of two grandchildren, Olivia and Garrett Clark of Waynesboro, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, October 2nd at 6:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, with Bro. Junior Necaise officiating. In lieu of any floral arrangements, please help the family honor Gaynell's wishes by making donations to the American Cancer Society in her honor, as she did not want anyone to endure what she did. That was Gaynell. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Martin family through this difficult time. Please keep them in your prayers in the days to come.
