Gary Allen Fink

November 30, 1958 — November 30, 2018

Lumberton, MS

Gary Allen Fink, a 60 year old father of 4 and cement finisher extraordinaire, passed away Sunday at Forrest General Hospital. Gary was born August 20, 1959 in his namesake hometown of Allentown, PA. He was the 3rd of 4 children to William Edwin and Janice Elaine (Clauss) Fink. He grew up an active, outgoing young man that loved sports. He wrestled, played football and served as a lifeguard in his younger days. After graduating from Dieruff High School in 1977, Gary spent the summer as a lifeguard, and joined the US Navy, where he served in the NCBS, better known as the "Seabees". This is where he learned and perfected the art of finishing concrete, and made a career doing so after his military service. He had a "heart of gold" according to those who knew him best, and among his passions in life was fishing. It is said that if he wasn't working, he was fishing. And if he was working, he was talking about fishing! He would fish anywhere, until a snake appeared. Once that happened, Gary was gone. A true "jack of all trades", Gary also enjoyed relaxing at the family cabin in Rockland Township. He definitely was a guy that had his days, but he adored his family. He loved his grandkids, all seventeen of them, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles. A loving brother, father and dedicated family man, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, William E. & Janice E. Fink, and his grandson, R.J. Davis. Left to cherish the many memories are: his children - Raymon (Tara) Brown of Lumberton, Roxanne (Roger) Scheirer of Catasaqua, PA, Thomas Dooley of Allentown, and Laina (Cameron) Nuzzo of Purvis; his brother, Bill (Lori) Fink of Nazareth, PA, and sisters Cindy and Cheryl Fink, both of Allentown; thirteen grand and four great=grandchildren, all of who he loved dearly, along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Gary's final wishes were to be cremated, and his ashes included in some cement and finished, so that even after he was gone, he could be of some usefulness. His family is honoring his wishes, and a memorial will be held at a later date, most likely in Rockland Township. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Fink family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them in their prayers during this trying time.
