Garland Wayne Smith

Garland Wayne Smith, 54, of Poplarville, MS, passed away January 4th, 2021. He was born on July 19th, 1966 in Bogalusa, LA  to Michael Calvin and Elizabeth Smith. Garland is preceded in death by his father, Michael. Left to cherish his memories are his loving life wife of 36 years, Karen Smith: His mother, Elizabeth Smith; daughters, Carrie Sue and Heidi Smith; sister and brother-in-law, April and David Bond; his best friend and partner in crime, Tony N.; grandchildren Taven and Harley; nieces, Cholee, Callyn and Cassidee along with extended family and friends. Garland was definitely the life of the party. Always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends, Garland was "Johnny on the Spot Handyman". He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and karaoke but above all loved spending time with his family. Garland was known for having a smart mouth and having a quick comeback for everything. He will be forever loved, missed beyond words, and always remembered. A Visitation will be held Friday, January 8th at Steep Hollow Baptist Church in Poplarville from 6 pm to 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 9th at 3 pm with interment to follow at Smith ( Old Steep Hollow) Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, attendees are being asked to wear facial masks and adhere to social distancing.
