Gulfport

Frieda Ann Kelly, 73, passed away on September 20, 2025 in Gulfport, MS. She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 27, 1952 to Billy Ray Jacobs and Jacquelyn Rogers.

Frieda Ann Kelly, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Known by all as one of the sweetest souls, Frieda touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.

Born to Billy Ray and Jacquelyn, Frieda grew up with a strong sense of family. At a young age, she stepped into the role of big sister with pride, helping raise and guide her siblings. That sense of care carried throughout her life as she became the matriarch of her family, always making sure everyone was taken care of.

Frieda spent 50 years as the proud owner of her trophy shop, a place that became more than just a business—it was a cornerstone of the community. Her work, admired for its quality and heart, can be seen all over town. She took immense pride in every piece she made and gave her best to the people she served.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. A devoted mother and grandmother, Frieda loved nothing more than hosting family gatherings, filling the house with laughter, delicious meals, and the warmth of togetherness. She raised her grandson, Chason Regan Haley, who was the light of her life and her pride and joy. To the little ones of the family, she will always be remembered as “Aunt No No,” a sweet nickname that began with her gentle way of correcting babies. Frieda’s presence was strong and respected, her heart deeply loving, and her care for others unmatched. She was adored by her family, cherished by her friends, and respected by her community. Frieda Ann Kelly’s legacy will live on in her family, in the community she faithfully served, and in the love she shared so freely with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Ray Kelly; her parents, Billy Ray Jacobs and Jacquelyn Rogers; her son, Jason Haley; and her brother, Freddy Ray Jacobs.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Julia Dawn Haley; grandson, Chason Regan Haley; siblings, Vickie (Eugene) Penton, Kathy Sue (Dennis) Penton, and Eddie Lee Jacobs; godchildren, Whitney (Raven) Penton and Matthew (Renee) Penton Sr; nephew, Henry “Bubba” Rieley; niece, Amanda McDaniel; great-nephews, Matt Penton Jr. and Austin McDaniel; great-nieces, Jacquelyn Penton and Jenna McDaniel. Along with many other nieces, nephews, and countless beloved friends.
