Mr. Frank Darby, Jr., 55 of Perkinston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening in Wiggins. Frank was born October 13, 1961 in new Orleans, LA, the oldest of 4 children born to Frank Sr. and Rose Francis Darby. The family would split time between the Crescent City and the Pearlington area of the MS Gulf Coast. Frank was, by all accounts, his own person. He came to enjoy working on cars and other things through his uncle's junkyard. He graduated from Hancock County High School as a member of the Class of 1980. He worked in various jobs throughout his career, including tugboats, but enjoyed working in construction. He will be remembered as loving and kind, but "stern and firm" man. Some would say he was "ornary", and others called him "Cranky Franky", but everyone who truly knew him, loved him. Frank enjoyed being one of Santa's helpers during this time of the year, which may have something to do with his affinity to cookies and milk! Over the past several years, his passion in life was his grandchildren, and he spoiled them as often as possible. Frank will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; his daughter, Karolanne M. Edwards; his siblings, one sister, Irma Mitchell (Robert) of Slidell, LA, and two brothers, Rene Darby (Cindy) of Lizana, and Clifford Darby (Larry) of Gilbert, AZ; his 4 grandchildren, Emilirose, Kadance, Zechariah, and Kristine Edwards; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Darby; his mother-in-law, Joan Crews; and his uncle, Bill Darby. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lumberton, MS, where Frank was an active parishioner, and a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. All who knew him are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family through such a difficult time. Please keep Rhonda and the rest of the Darby family lifted up in prayer through this difficult time.
