Mr. Frank Clymouth Sylvest

November 29, 1955 — February 19, 2019

Mr. Frank Clymouth "Hippie" Sylvest entered into our Lord's presence on February 19, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones. Frank was born to Fred and Monette (nee Pittman) Sylvest on November 29, 1955 at Chalmette infirmary in Chalmette, LA. He grew up in Meraux, LA, Pine Burr, Bunker Hill and Baxterville, MS. Raised on a farm, he was used to hard work. He graduated from Lumberton High School in 1974. He went on to work at Kaiser Aluminum and proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Newport from 1974-1977. He was the big brother and he was very protective of his family. He was a brilliant mechanic! He loved building and repairing things. He loved his family and people! Babies loved him! Known for his big grin and jovial manner, he was easily loved and will be sorely missed by many! He loved his family, driving a log truck, classic rock and sweet tea! He knew all the good roads! He could remember everything. Left to cherish his presence is his wife, Laura "Cookie" Hamm Sylvest; 2 daughters, Frances Johnson and Beverly (Cody) Lucas; 4 grandchildren, William Johnson, Kylie Johnson, Payton Lucas and Addilynn Lucas; brother, Rondall Sylvest of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Shirley McNabb (Edd) of Columbia, MS and Mary (Murge) McCardle of Lumberton, MS; 1 nephew, 4 nieces and many cousins, family and friends. We have truly lost a great treasure. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Funeral Services in Lumberton on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 12 to 2 with a chapel service at 2. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Sylvest during this difficult time and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
