Mr. Francis Leroy Marks

Mr. Francis Leroy Marks, 63 of Wiggins, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 2, 2016. Francis was born January 3, 1953 in Newton, Iowa and was one of 8 siblings. He joined the US Marine Corps after receiving his high school diploma. Following his time as a Marine, Francis became a commercial truck driver, and travelled the roadways for the next 18 years, until his health became an issue and forced him into a medical retirement. His love of travelling kept him going however, and he would spend the rest of his years travelling all around the country, sight seeing and camping. Francis Leroy Marks, Jr will be remembered as a quiet man who kept to himself mostly. But if you were his friend, you held a special place to him. His latest stop along his journey was at Lake-A-Way here in Stone county, where he had been for the past few months. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. He was divorced several years ago, and has no children. Francis is survived by his siblings, a brother, Vernon Marks of California, MO; sisters Clarise Farr (Richard) of Newport, VT, Edie Marks of Winterset, IA, Susan Weatherly of Booneville, AR, and Pamela Purdy of Oskaloosa, IA, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Leroy Purdy and Dixie Doris Marks, 2 brothers, Thomas William and Jimmy Lee Marks, and a sister, Mary Ellen Harris. Mr. Marks will be cremated, and returned to his hometown in Iowa. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to have served the Marks family in their time of need.
