Frances Elaine Cobb, 80 of Perkinston, passed away on December 23, 2021 Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. She was born on August 07, 1941 at the family home in Perkinston, one of twelve children and daughter of Haston and Letha (Sumrall) Rogers. Frances, better known to most as "Tootsie", grew up in Perk close to the college campus. Being a South MS country girl, she liked the outdoors and fishing, and learned the finer aspects of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the home from her mother. Tootsie attended school there at Perk, long before it became a college campus. She often joked that the walk to school each day was uphill, both ways. She married Bobby Daniels at 15 and they made their home in Gulfport for a while, before returning to Perk. Tootsie raised her four children and took care of the family. She moved them to Texas for several years and returned home to Stone county in the early 90s, where she met and married Joe Cobb. They lived in Stone county where Toostie stayed busy, working a few jobs over the years, including driving a school bus, Taylor's Food store, and finishing her career as a security guard at Hood. Tootsie was a strong willed, family oriented woman. She had a caring, giving heart and loved to cook for others, making some of the best dressing around. She would make anything you wanted, but if cooking for herself, it was usually fried catfish. Tootsie was a Christian by faith and attended Maranantha Baptist Church. She read her Bible every day, attended faithfully and served wherever she could at church. Family was so important to her and she loved her kids and grandkids more than anything. She will be forever loved and missed by all whose life she touched. Tootsie was preceded by her parents, Haston and Letha Rogers, brothers Billy, Earl, Ray, John, Gary, and Eddie Gene Rogers, sisters Connie Walters and Esther Watson; step-sons Gregory and Joe W. Cobb, a stepdaughter Belinda Carlisle and a step-grandaughter Stephanie Mayfield. Left to cherish her memories are: her daughters Elaine Bobo of Georgetown, TX and Connie (Jacob) Schuit of Wiggins, with sons Allen and Lee Daniels, both of Wiggins, and her stepdaughter, Wanda (Tony) Robertson of the Dixie community; brothers Calvin (Sandy) Rogers of Gulfport and Jerry Rogers of McHenry, with sisters Bracie Galloway and Drennon Cobia of South Carolina, and her husband of over 30 years, Rufus "Joe" Cobb of Wiggins. She leaves a legacy of nineteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grands, and a whole lot of extended family and friends. Services have been set for Thursday, Dec. 30th at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 12:00 PM, with interment to follow in the Sumrall Cemetery in Perkinston. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cobb family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
