Frances Elizabeth Kelly

June 3, 1962 — October 18, 2019

Frances Elizabeth Kelly, age 57, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Friday, October 18, 2019. She was born to Charles and Marion Kelly on June 3, 1962. Frances grew up 5 blocks from the beach where everyone on her street was family. Cousins would go and bury each other in the sand and go home for dinner. Of course, the aunts would get anxious and you would have to go dig the cousin out!!! Frances was outgoing from the start. She was on the Dance Skate Team and Speed Skate Team. She was a graduate from Gulfport High in 1980, from MGCCC Culinary Arts in 2017 and MGCCC Hotel and Restaurant Technology in 2018. She was a master cook in the kitchen.  Frances worked at numerous coast restaurants. She loved to love people. She made friends everywhere she went.  She enjoyed cooking and eating what she cooked!! Her favorite dish was probably French Onion Soup. She made Crawfish Tail Wraps just a few weeks ago to share with her family. Frances had a passion for cooking and even when she was no longer able to do it herself, she walked others through it. She always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Everyone always knew where they stood with her. She liked you or she didn't, it was black or white. All whom knew her loved her dearly and will never forget her wit, charm and grace and undying love and care for them. Even though Frances was many things to many different people, she loved her role as grandma the best. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gibson; grandson, Gage Carroll and uncles, Archie, Guy, Clyde Kelly and Dallard and James Gibson; aunts Joanne Wedgeworth and Dianne Gongalez. She leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Charles and Marion Kelly; Children, Michelle and Travis Mobley; Stepchildren, Michael, Rachel and Marsha; sisters, Veronica (Craig, Sr.) Tracy and Lori Redmond; brother, Charles (Juanita) Kelly; grandchildren, Amanda, Peyton, Blake, Raven, Cody, William and Cayden along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Frances also leaves behind her beloved dog, Panda Bear and No Name cat who both were a comfort to her. A special thank you to her many caregivers, Becky Prewitt, Juanita Kelly, Kristy Hernandez, Ashley Kelly, Sarah Hilbun, Phyllis Gross, Charles, Jr. and Veronica. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 21 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry from 5 to 7 pm with a chapel service at 7 pm.
