Fran J Hesse

Fran J Hesse, affectionately known as "Flopsy," entered this world on February 23, 1960, and departed from it on February 6, 2026. A beloved figure in her community, Fran's life was a tapestry woven with love, service, and an unwavering dedication to the joys that brought her happiness.

As the proud owner of Fran's Playland, she created a sanctuary for children, filled with laughter and imagination. This endeavor was merely the beginning of a career marked by devotion; Fran served for 24 years with earnestness at Winn Dixie, where her contributions echoed throughout the stores she graced in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Her spirit resonated not just through the aisles, but in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Fran was deeply enamored with animals, an affection that was especially evident in her cherished relationships with her beloved pets. Among them, Petey the rooster held a special place in her heart, alongside her pack of poodles and her adored Golden.  Aspyn, Maggie, Lexie, and Olivia the current pack now feel her absence profoundly. Each animal was a testament to her nurturing spirit and her genuine love for all beings.

In her personal life, Fran’s family provided a strong foundation, and she is survived by her husband Jim Hesse; step son Corbyn Hesse; brother, Yancey Jacob; sister-in-law, Leslie Jacob; niece Shannon Jacob; niece Raven Jacob; nephew Zane Jacob; mother-in-law, Marilyn Hesse; along with many great nieces and nephews. Each has been touched by her kindness and will carry her memory forward, alongside the countless children who flourished in her care at Fran's Playland.

She is predeceased by her father, OJ Jacob, and her mother, Jayne Bossier Jacob, both of whom no doubt welcomed her with open arms.

On February 25, 2026, family and friends will gather to honor Fran's remarkable life at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Reserve, Louisiana. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass celebrating her life at 11:30 AM. As they come together, they will reminisce about the laughter and love that Fran brought into their lives, forever grateful for the time they spent with such a radiant soul.

Fran J Hesse leaves behind a legacy marked by her compassion, strength, and an unwavering zest for life, a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
