Darlene Harris, beloved wife, mother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home on June 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, after bravely battling cancer. She born in Oklahoma on February 23, 1937, her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Darlene was preceded in death by her Husband Norris Harris, and her parents, Otis Lionberger and Myrtle Hancock Lionberger, as well as her brother, Randal Lionberger. She was the middle child among four siblings, having two sisters and a brother. Her loving spirit, warm smile, and kind heart will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Darlene was blessed with two children, Brenda Harris Pitts and Jonathan Harris, both of whom she adored dearly. Darlene's devotion to her family was unwavering, and her legacy of love and guidance will forever resonate in their lives. Known for her adventurous spirit and love for travel, Darlene explored the world extensively. She was captivated by the beauty of different cultures, landscapes, and people she encountered along the way. Her zest for life and curiosity led her on remarkable adventures, creating lasting memories for herself and those fortunate enough to accompany her. While Darlene's travels enriched her life, it was her warm and caring nature that touched the hearts of everyone she met. She possessed a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and loved, Her genuine compassion and empathy were felt by all who were fortunate enough to experience her presence.
Darlene's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family, but her memory will forever be cherished. Her love, strength, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have shared in her remarkable journey. Darlene Harris is survived by her her loving children, Brenda Harris Pitts and Jonathan Harris and her sisters, Sue Thompson and Donna Wright. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a cancer research foundation or a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Darlene's resilience and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Darlene, your bright spirit will forever shine in our hearts. May you rest in peace, knowing that your legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
