Eric Kendal Holston

Mr. Eric Kendal Holston, 42 of Poplarville, passed away at Ochsner Medical Center on Wednesday, July 17th. Eric was born October 5, 1976, the baby of two boys to Theo & Deborah (Cuevas) Holston, Jr. He grew up in the Springhill community of Pearl River county, and enjoyed the outdoors and hanging with his older brother Bradley. Eric gave himself the nickname "Frog" early on in life, and it stuck with him. He was an energetic and outgoing young man with a vivid imagination, pretending to be a big truck for a lot of his childhood. His family remembers the burning sticks used as a smokestack, the attempt at making the sounds of a diesel engine, gears shifting, and tires skidding as he ran around the yard. Frog would go on to actually own his own trucking company later in life. A graduate of Old Dominion Christian School, he went to work offshore for several years, and had recently taken a new job with the Diamondhead POA. Frog is remembered as a rambunctious boy with a big heart. He was the type to "pitch-in" without being asked and had a jovial personality to boot. Frog loved to laugh, was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Etha, and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his daughter, Morgan Holston; his father, Theo Holston, Jr; grandparents Theo & Dimple Holston, Sr. and Archester & Fannie Cuevas; aunt Marcia Renot, uncles Chet Cuevas, Pat Smith, and Bob Burleson. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife, Etha (Faye) Holston; children Taylor & Erica Holston, and step-daughter Arin Rester; his older brother Bradley (Nancy) Holston; nephews Tyler (Nadine), Tyson, and Tyron Holston; his mother Deborah Holston; aunts Linda Bilbo, Bonnie (Larry) Ladner, Madeline Smith, and Judy (Audi) Spiers, along with numerous extended family and friends. The family has set services for Saturday, July 20th at Steep Hollow Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the funeral service set for 12:00 PM, after which he will be laid to rest at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Holston family in their time of need, and asks that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
