Eretta Jane (Hester) Clark

Eretta J. Clark, 69, of Wiggins, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Hattiesburg, MS. Her zest for life was contagious along with her array of eclectic interests.  She was an herbalist who not only grew her own plants but also raised goats, using their milk to craft homemade soaps. Throughout her life, she made hundreds of these quilts, cherishing the joy of giving them away to friends and loved ones, never once seeking profit from her handiwork. But Eretta's talents didn't end there. She loved geocaching, the modern-day treasure hunt that took her on countless adventures and satisfied her love of the outdoors. Strong-willed and determined, she faced life head-on, whether managing an archery team, serving the community as a dedicated LPN, or behind the wheel of an ambulance. Eretta's chicken & dumplings and tater tot casserole were always made with love more than anything else. Her sense of adventure was inspiring and perhaps best displayed in the unscripted road trips she undertook with her son across the country. For them, the journey was always about the experience and company, more than any destination they could reach. They traversed back roads and highways, finding joy in the countless stories that each mile presented. Eretta is preceded by her parents, Lester and Helen Hester; brother, David Hester. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Phillip Clark; children, Eli William Clark, Brandon Les (Eve) Shaw, Damian “PeeWee” Collins, Kem Delynn Saucier, Mark Blaise Collins, Angie Hilton, and Beau Butler; siblings, Rex Hester, Mac Hester, Jimbo Hester, and Sydney Hester; along with 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 10AM-11AM with Services to follow at Trinity Funeral Services.
