Mr. Elroy Windell Necaise, 72 of Steep Hollow, passed away at his home early Monday morning, March 11th. Elroy was born January 10, 1947 in Gulfport, the 4th of 6 children to Clifton J. & Bessie (Shaw) Necaise. He grew up in the Sellers community of Hancock county, and enjoyed the outdoors and horses. He went to school at Sellers and Hancock North Central High School. Early in his career, he worked on a dairy and drove a milk truck. Later, he worked at Stennis for a while, and on his own farm as well. Elroy had an entrepreneurial drive, and loved to work and build things. He designed and patented a septic system, and operated A-1 Septic Systems for many years, with his system still in use today. He has built many things over the years, mostly for his kids and grandkids, including rocking horses, bread and potato bins, elaborate and functional "play" houses, and even a home-made roller coaster. In his spare time, when he had any, he loved to fish and rabbit hunt as often as possible. Elroy is remembered by his children as a selfless man who was a dependable problem-solver. A comparable helpmate and provider for his wife Myra, he will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Clifton & Bessie, and one brother, Wayne. Left to cherish his memories are: his wife of 52 years, Myra (Hariel) Necaise, their children, daughters Gina (Tim) Rigney of Hattiesburg, and Tina (Todd) Necaise of Poplarville, and their son, Brad (Mechelle) Necaise of Hattiesburg; his siblings: sisters Janell Wilson of Gulfport, Nelda Ladner of Perkinston, and Sharon (Kevin) Shaw, also of Gulfport, and one brother, Guy Necaise. He also leaves twelve grandchildren, five great-grands, and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, customers, and friends over the years. Services have been set for Friday, March 15th at Steep Hollow Baptist Church where he was a member. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, with the funeral service at 2:00 in the sanctuary. Interment will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery on Barth Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Smith Family Cemetery, which can be mailed to: Smith Family Cemetery, 6 Michael D. Smith Road, Poplarville, MS 39470. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Necaise family in their time of need, and asks that everyone keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
