Ellen (Bounds) Bedwell

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Ms. Ellen Elaine Bedwell, 66, on February 6th. She was born February 20, 1954 to Liston and Helen Bounds. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald, Doyle, Alton and Dalton Bounds and a grandson, Johnathon Bedwell. Ellen leaves behind a legacy of family; her beloved husband of 49 years, Ray Bedwell; her sons, Rev. Ben (Jania Odom) Bedwell and Jason (Sharon) Bedwell; grandchildren, Blake (Casey) Bedwell, Nathan Pierce, Kailey (Brandon Houston) Pierce, Derian Bedwell, Jacob Knopp and Nick Knopp; great-grands, Abbey, Rylynn, Josie and Hayzlee; brothers, Steve Bounds and Donald (Debbie) Bounds; sister, Tammy (Danny) Saul along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ms Ellen was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved to love on her grandchildren and share her love of God with them. She loved her family and instilled in her sons strong values that have served them well. Ellen had many health hardships in her lifetime, but she never let them define her. With the grace of God, she preserved and used the experiences to help others. She may have been the sweetest woman, but she was nowhere near a pushover. There was never any doubt where everyone stood with her. When Ellen wasn’t deer hunting with her husband or reading a book, you could find her cooking and spoiling her grandbabies. Ms. Ellen will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. It was Ms Ellen’s final wishes to tell everyone that she loved them, to hold onto each other and give her grandchildren lots of hugs and kisses from Maw-Maw.  A Visitation will be held at Pine Hill Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where she was a charter member, Thursday, February 11th from 6 pm to 9 pm. Funeral services are set for 10 am, Friday, February 12th with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
