Edwin Emmett Burt Iv

Edwin Emmett Burt IV, age 67 of Vancleave, passed away August 22, 2019 at Ocean Springs Hospital.  The youngest of four born to Edwin and Oma (Powell) Burt III on February 5, 1952.  He received his bachelor's degree in forestry from Mississippi State in which he made his lifelong career.  He was a tree expert, great storyteller and wonderful man.  On October 22, 1988, he married his wife and soulmate Janiece and a few years later they were blessed with a beautiful daughter.  Although he battled cancer, he never let it define him.  He always had a smile and kind word for everyone.  Though Edwin is gone his memory will live on and never be forgotten.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Janiece (Hickman) Burt and daughter, Jedaiah Burt; sisters, Sue (Tom) Kuritz, Ellen Havens and Sheila (Ralph) Rayner; brothers-in-law Bruce (Marlene) Hickman and Avery (Cheri) Hickman along with lots of nieces and nephews he loved dearly.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 24, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Sunflower Baptist Church in Perkinston.
